I led the transformation of the former Ganzo restaurant in Florence, Italy into a coworking space - designed as a place where members can settle into a dedicated environment to focus, create, and collaborate. Located in the historic Sant’Ambrogio district, the project called for a careful balance between modern functionality and the city’s rich heritage. Through a thoughtful use of color and line, the design subtly reflects Florence’s essence while establishing a contemporary and inspiring atmosphere.

This design reimagines the historic essence of Florence’s Sant’Ambrogio through a contemporary lens, blending sharp modern lines with the organic beauty of the natural world. The moodboard captures this harmony through a palette of earthy terracottas, leathers, and verdant greens, reflecting the city’s traditional textures within a sleek, minimalist framework. By integrating rhythmic botanical motifs and dappled light, the space creates a grounding connection to the environment while honoring Florentine heritage. This aesthetic reflects a sophisticated brand development strategy that pairs mid-century Italian sensibilities with a deep appreciation for architectural frameworks found in nature. The resulting atmosphere provides a restorative experience, utilizing nature-inspired design to create a space that feels both timeless and restorative for the visitor.
A key focus of the design was flexibility. Most of the furniture is modular and transformable, allowing for easy adjustments to accommodate different users and their needs. For instance, the tables can be modified for standing or sitting work, and they also meet ADA accessibility requirements. The meeting room is designed to adapt to groups of various sizes, ensuring a versatile and efficient space.
